KY is a desk lamp made of ash wood, featuring a rotation system integrated directly into the wooden assembly. The movement operates solely through the precision of the wood joint, without glue, visible screws or additional mechanical components. The project is based on a simple constructive principle, where the structure ensures both stability and rotation.

The project was developed with the involvement of Wataru Kumano, a Japanese architect invited to work on the potential of glue-free wooden joints. The research focused on traditional wood joinery and its application to a contemporary object, integrating mechanical function directly into the construction.

KY received the Student Winner award in the Table category at the Lamp Competition in 2021. The project highlights an approach in which mechanical function is resolved through structural design rather than the addition of technical components.
