Doppelgänger is a project exploring the notion of a digital double through the creation of an avatar generated by artificial intelligence. Based on data and controlled interactions, the avatar simulates a human presence. The project examines the relationship between technology, identity and self-representation within a digital environment.

Initially designed as a system under direct control, the avatar progressively developed its own behaviors and responses through interaction with artificial intelligence. This evolution highlights processes of anthropomorphism and human projection onto digital systems. The project observes how users interact with an artificial entity perceived as increasingly autonomous.

Doppelgänger questions the gradual erosion of boundaries between virtual and real worlds, as well as the position of humans in relation to intelligent systems capable of independent action. The project was developed as part of a research-based creative exploration and presented during the HEAD – Geneva Graduate Show 2024.
